A private equity approach to public markets

We apply a private equity approach to public markets: concentrated, long-term and actively engaged. SPUR to confirm and refine this wording.

We invest when a company:

  1. is a listed European mid-cap, typically valued between €1 and €10 billion
  2. has a business model and market structure we can fully understand
  3. has an intrinsic value that is not yet reflected in its share price
  4. can grow earnings through operational improvement
  5. has a board willing to engage in constructive dialogue

How we engage

  1. 01

    Research

A thorough due diligence process to develop a truly proprietary perspective on each business, its improvement potential and its valuation.

  2. 02

    Position

A minority stake of typically 1–5%, held for three to five years on average, in a concentrated portfolio of 8–12 companies.

  3. 03

    Dialogue

We engage deeply with the company and its leadership, privately and constructively wherever possible.

  4. 04

    Escalation

When agreement cannot be reached, we engage publicly: open letters and, where necessary, proxy contests or legal steps.
